Russia’s NovaMedica to invest 3 bln rbl in pharmaceutical plant

MOSCOW, Mar 7 (PRIME) -- Russian pharmaceutical company NovaMedica on Wednesday signed a special investment contract with the government to invest 3 billion rubles in construction of a pharmaceutical plant in the Kaluga Region.

“This is the fifth special investment contract that the Russian pharmaceutical industry has signed. Thus, we are developing competences in a wide range of therapeutic spheres. We plan to localize production of unique medicines that have no analogues, which makes Russia as at least a second world production site,” Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said at the ceremony of signing of the contract.

The plant will produce sterile injectable dosage forms. NovaMedica plans to localize production of life-saving medicines of Pfizer company at the plant, as well as medicines developed by the Russian company as well.
